Pilot Post

Hey there!

So I have never had a blog, so this is quite new.  And I am not 100% sure what the hell I am suppose to write here...

Well I guess I will introduce myself:  My name is Lucija and I live in Oakville, Ontario, but go to the University of Guelph.  I am going to start my 3rd year in the fall of Marine and Freshwater Biology.  I was born in Croatia but moved to Canada when I was only 5.5 months old (it will 19 years since I live here on May 4th, my grandma won't let me forget!) 

I love Croatia so much and think that everyone should go at least once and see the beautiful coast line (seriously, google it).  I thoroughly believe that because every summer since I was like 6 I would go to the sea in croatia, and because of that I have developed a passion for marine life.  I would spend HOURS in the shallow water just looking at anything, chillin' with the fish and algae! (Yeah im a bit of a geek...) I was shy as a kid, and my sister, being 6 years older, would never play with me at the beach so I would watch the marine life and how I loved it!  All I need going to the beach is a snorkel, mask, and flippers.  Not even a towel.  My parents would take me sailing which then opened me up to the marine mammals!  Oh wild dolphins are amazing, the way they would jump along with the boat, I fell in love.  So basically that story tells you that since grade school I have wanted to be a marine biologist and know I am on my way...hopefully.

So like I said I'm a geek.  Like honestly I love algae! I think it is so cool! And I have no idea why, it's almost as cool as chitons and sea urchins! Honestly!  Other geeky things I enjoy are Harry Potter and anything to do with it like podcasts (MuggleCast all the way) and I like Twilight (I know, I know cliche much?) and Imprint, the Twilight podcast.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE musicals! Like soooo much! If you say it song, I am listening!  Life is always good in a musical, despite needing to meet rent or being green, good things always happen, or they seem to be good because it is in song.  My all time favourite musical is Hairspray (before the movie came out, but Zac Efron did not hurt!)

But yes, that is the basic gist of me...for now.

Ok, I don't want to bore anyone anymore, even though I am insanely bored, so I will leave now...
